A Private Pilot License (PPL) is the first step toward a career in aviation. This license enables the holder to fly single-engine airplanes for non-commercial purposes, carry passengers, and gives almost unlimited authority to fly under Visual Flight Rules (VFR).
Training Structure
Training is divided into two parts: ground school and flight training.
- Ground School: You'll learn nine different subjects providing the basic knowledge for flight.
- Flight Training: You will develop your flying skills and learn navigation techniques.
Examinations
To qualify as a Private Pilot, students must pass both a theoretical and practical examination, administered by the Romanian Civil Aeronautical Authority.
Course Quality
The pilot courses organized by FLY LEVEL are certified by the Romanian Civil Aeronautical Authority and recognized internationally by all European Aviation Safety Agency member states.
Admission Requirements
- Must be at least 17 years old.
- Must hold a valid medical certificate (Class 1 or 2).
- Must present a valid criminal record certificate.

Theoretical Training
The theoretical training for the PPL course consists of at least 100 hours. FLY LEVEL organizes both distance learning and in-class sessions.
Practical Training
Students must complete at least 45 hours of flight instruction at one of the following aerodromes:
- Strejnicu Aerodrome, Prahova County, Romania
- Prejmer Aerodrome, Brașov County, Romania
- Suceava, Romania
- Iasi, Romania
- Chișinău International Airport, Republic of Moldova
Certification
After completing a skill test, students are certified as pilots by the Romanian Civil Aeronautical Authority.
